I help beginner and experienced writers alike. I specialize in working with writers who have imposter syndrome because I do not believe that it is something we need to live and create with forever… because I myself have freed myself from its grip. But even if you don’t have imposter syndrome and you want to work together, we’d have plenty to talk about regarding your story that we can still work together.

I’m happy to work with writers in any fiction genre except erotica. I have nothing against it, but it’s not a genre I feel comfortable coaching.

I do not coach nonfiction, memoir, poetry, or children’s books. If you’re writing short fiction and would like coaching, feel free to reach out. I’ve coached short fiction writers in the past and loved it, but it’s not the type of work that comes across my plate frequently enough to have a package for.

My feedback can best be described as gentle and encouraging but also intensive. I like to teach where needed as well, and always, my goal is to empower you to write with confidence and enjoy the journey.

I give what’s known as macro, or developmental feedback. This means that while I may point out a turn of phrase that works particularly well or a grammar issue I’m seeing a lot of, most of my feedback will be about the bones of the story. Character, plot, setting, world building, narrative drive… etc.

I do this because there is little point in us working on the sentence level if those sentences might move, be changed a lot, or removed. This would be more micro editing, which should always come after macro editing.

Proofreading should always come last, and the story should essentially be complete and finished by the time proofreading happens… otherwise, it’s a waste of your time and creative energy.

Let’s talk about it. We’re all human and life happens. We can both be understanding with one another and give each other as much advanced notice as possible.

I’ve priced my services across a wide range so that hopefully, I can help any writers who seek my coaching. I do offer payment plans for monthly coaching so that you don’t need to pay it all in advance; we can talk about this on our discovery call before we work together if you like.

AI has become so integrated with our entire online experience. Sometimes, like in web searches, it can’t be avoided. But I don’t use generative AI.

I’ve sampled it, and while I liked it at first, my thoughts on it soon changed. That said, I know writers who swear that it helps them write where they wouldn’t be writing at all otherwise.

I don’t judge my writers on whether or not they choose to use AI. I would prefer not to coach pages written by AI without the writer going through and making them their own, simply because I think AI’s writing gets a little boring to read.

Of course! It’s not a requirement, but I do talk about it a lot because not only did I have it and not realize it for a long time, but for a while, I also succumbed to what others said about how it never goes away. I don’t subscribe to that belief.

But if you’ve already worked through imposter syndrome and kissed it goodbye, or if you never had it to begin with (you lucky duck!), then I’d still love to talk to you about your book.

Yes; I require that you sign up for at least three months. I do this for two reasons:

1. Most importantly, this allows you to get the first 90 pages of your novel written with feedback, which is a nice start if you then want to continue working solo.

2. Much less importantly but still worthy of consideration, it requires some administrative work to get each package going,

You are, of course, more than welcome to work with me for longer than three months. A 300 page novel would take about ten months.

I do also have an accountability option you can switch to after your first three months. We can talk about it if you want to keep deadlines going but don’t need the feedback on your pages.
