to craft stories is to give life to characters and ask what it means to be human.

current work

i’m writing a ya historical novel set ca. 1750 about a girl who quests to find her brother—and winds up finding herself. set against the backdrop of the seven years’ war, this novel is my m.f.a. thesis.

I just started a book that’s a retelling of the Robin Hood legend. this is my all-time favorite legend, and a good book to draft while i’m letting my thesis rest because i’ve read the legend so many times and studied medieval history and literature, so I feel like I can pump out a draft and fill in any research gaps after.

I write to carry voices out of history.
