Welcome to the Narrative Rebellion

Earlier this year, I thought I was choosing a new niche for my book coaching. I thought also that I wanted to step away from historical fiction, so I was choosing a broader umbrella under which to write.

I landed on Narrative Rebellion.

What I didn’t realize right away was that it’s not just a niche or genre. It’s a movement.

I didn’t realize that it was a call from my heart to connect human-to-human through literature.

Where it’s been and where it’s going

I was talking with my mom yesterday about social media. I’ve long disliked it. Now that it’s filled with AI slop, and now that I understand how enshittification works, I really want little to nothing to do with it personally.

So everything is coming here. I’m not deleting my Instagram or Substack accounts, but they’re just going to sit there. And what began as the Narrative Rebellion podcast? I ran a season of it on Substack… but going forward that content is going to live as a blog.

This blog.

This entirely human-written blog.

I’m not going to delete the season of the podcast I made. It will live on the Substack I don’t plan to use anymore, and it will remain on Apple and Spotify for your listening pleasure.

But the content? That will continue here.

And, if you want to stay up to date, you can subscribe to my newsletter (you’ll also get free gifts!) or my RSS feed.

I will probably post roughly once a week. Topics of discussion will include:

  • Writing craft and analysis of other narrative rebellions

  • My writing journey

  • What’s going on in the world and how it helps or prompts us to connect human-to-human

So, welcome narrative rebel.
